The Farmers Bank Announces Karen Gregerson Elected Chair Of The Board For Federal Home Loan Bank Of Indianapolis

We are excited to announce the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis Board of Directors has elected Karen Gregerson as Chair of the Board and Robert Fisher as Vice Chair of the Board, each for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2023, and ending Dec. 31, 2024. 

Since 2016, Karen Gregerson has been President and CEO of The Farmers Bank in Frankfort, Ind. She also is the President of the Farmers Bancorp, the bank’s holding company. Gregerson previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of a Northeast Indiana bank. She has served on the Board since 2013, and as Board Vice-Chair from Jan. 1, 2021, through Dec. 31, 2022. 

Within the community, Gregerson has served on a number of boards in Frankfort, Marion, and Fort Wayne.  She currently serves on the Clinton County United Way Board, IUK Clinton County Advisory Board, Partners in Progress Board, Rotary and SHARP Board.  She has served as past campaign chair for Clinton County United Way and has also been active with Girl Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and Matthew 25 Health & Dental Clinic. 

A certified public accountant, Gregerson earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and a master’s degree from Indiana Tech. In 2016, she was recognized as an Outstanding Woman in Banking by Northwest Financial Review magazine and in 2020, was named IBA Woman of the Year. 

Karen and her husband Roy have three grown children, Royce, Emily, and Ethan, a daughter in law, Casey and son-in-law, Matt. They have also been blessed with granddaughters, Lucy Catherine and Olivia Maeve. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, ancestry, history, reading and entertaining.  Karen states, “I am so blessed to have worked with talented people who have helped me grow and have given me opportunities to advance in my career.  I would not have been able to accomplish what I have without them.”
