The Farmers Bank Announces Karen Gregerson Inducted Into Indiana Bankers Association Forty Year Banker Club

The Farmers Bank is pleased to announce that Karen Gregerson has been inducted into the Indiana Bankers Association Forty Year Banker Club.  The Indiana Bankers Association (IBA) salutes the Forty Year Banker Club members who have dedicated at least 40 years of service to the banking industry.  We thank these individuals for bringing strength and stability to the banking profession.

Karen began her banking career on May 24, 1982, at a northeast Indiana bank where she worked for 34 years. During her tenure there, she held several different positions including Audit and Tax Manager, Controller, CFO and President of Trust.  She joined The Farmers Bank in April 2016 as President and Chief Executive Officer. She also is a director of The Farmers Bank and Farmers Bancorp.

Additionally, Gregerson serves in leadership as a board member of the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation and as a member director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis where she is currently Vice-Chair. When she joined the FHLBI board in 2013, she was the first female member director to be elected to the Indianapolis Bank.

Within the community, Gregerson has served on a number of boards in Frankfort, Marion, and Fort Wayne.  She currently serves on the Clinton County United Way Board, IUK Clinton County Advisory Board, Partners in Progress Board and SHARP Board.  She has served as past campaign chair for Clinton County United Way and has also been active with Girl Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and the United Way for Allen County.

A certified public accountant, Gregerson earned a bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and a master’s degree from Indiana Tech. In 2016, she was recognized as an Outstanding Women in Banking by Northwest Financial Review magazine and in 2020, was named IBA Woman of the Year.

Karen and her husband Roy have three grown children, Royce, Emily, and Ethan, a daughter in law, Casey and son-in-law, Matt. They have also been blessed with a granddaughter, Lucy Catherine. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, ancestry, history, reading and cooking.  Karen states, “I am so blessed to have worked with talented people who have helped me grow and have given me opportunities to advance in my career.  I would not have been able to accomplish what I have without them.”
