Job Title: Officer - Branch Manager/Small Business Banker
Effective Date: 7/1/10
Department: Retail Banking
Reports to: VP Retail Banking
Job Summary: Responsible for the expansion and development of existing and new business relationships and the management of a retail branch. Must have a strong desire to service our clients. Accountable for business growth through Sales initiatives for yourself and the branch staff.
Skills Required: A college degree or equivalent work experience, with three to five years of branch consumer and small business lending/sales experiencein an environment with sales goals. Must possess good judgment, and have strong sales skills and the ability to develop business. Able to multi-task and be a strong role model for employees is required.
Primary Duties:
- Exercise control of the management and administrative operations of the branch office.
- Exercise managerial authority concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
- Maximize loans and deposit accounts by developing new business as well as maintaining present customers through aggressive branch and individual sales and cross-selling.
- Represent the bank at various community functions
- Accountable for maximizing branch revenues, sales, customer satisfaction and minimizing operating losses, responsible for compliance with bank policies, procedures and operational integrity.
- Conduct sales calls with clients and prospects in the assigned geographic and target market to sell bank products and services.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients.
- Collect and analyze applicants’ financial data; propose and negotiate solutions to defined needs.
- Approve or decline credit requests within assigned limits or make recommendations to appropriate approval level.
- Communicate credit decision to loan applicant. Coordinate the processing of loan documentation.
- Collect past due loans and monitor risk rating system on portfolio credits.
- Monitor and report on all classified or criticized assets in portfolio.
- Follow current portfolio to ensure conformity with terms; Maintain current and complete credit file.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of bank credit policy, commercial products and services, and personal products and services.
- Prepare reports on personal sales calling activity, loan closings and other sales activity as required. Have a personal sales goal.
- Attend and participate in meetings and committees as required.

Job Title: Asst. Branch Manager / Operations Manager

Department: Retail Banking
Reports to: Branch Manager
Job Summary: Manage all aspects of a retail banking center. Primary responsibilities include generating business growth through sales initiatives and the development of the branch associates while meeting legal and regulatory guidelines and requirements; and achieving individual branch sales and service goals. Develops business by establishing and maintaining sound relationships with existing and potential customers.
Skills Required: A strong desire to serve our clients. Ability to make a decision on your own and possess good judgment. Good sales skills and the ability to develop business is required. Must be able to multi-task and be a strong role model for employees. Communication, leadership, and organizational skills are of top priority. Minimum 2 years of retail management and/or sales management experience in an environment with sales goals.
Primary Duties:
- Originate and underwrite direct retail loans including auto, home equity, personal, mortgage, and student.
- Accountable, with the branch manager, for maximizing branch revenues, sales, customer satisfaction, and minimizing operating losses.
- Plan, manage and direct the retail and operational activities to minimize operational risk by fostering an error-free environment.
- Meet all security and audit requirements of their banking centers.
- Have a personal sales goal.
- Focus on sales activities both inside and outside of the branch.
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients.
- Deploy resources to optimize individual and team performance.
- Responsible for the banking center’s compliance with bank policies, procedures, and operational integrity.
- Prioritize, manage, and communicate promotional campaigns and product initiatives.
- Ensure quality levels of branch customer service.
- Represent bank in local community organizations.
- Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates and sales goals, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
- Develop programs and reward systems with the branch manager to increase morale, develop employees, etc. in order to assist in reducing turnover.
- Monitor employee activities, assist with problems, and take action when necessary to ensure work quality standards and planned schedules are maintained.
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to subordinate group.
- Overall responsibility for sales activities and banking center operations, including back up to teller/customer service functions.
- Responsible, with the branch manager, in achieving sales goals set for the assigned branch.
- Perform other duties and or projects as assigned.
Job Title: Branch Teller/Customer Service
Effective Date: 07/01/10
Department: Noblesville or Fishers
Reports to: Assistant Branch Manager
Job Summary: To process deposits and pay out funds in accordance with bank procedures; to record all transactions accurately and balance each day's operations. Seek out and open new accounts. Investigate needs of new and existing clients, present and recommend all bank products that are applicable. Solve client problems and issues in a friendly, ethical, and efficient manner.
Skills Required: Eagerness to work with the public and serve our clients needs beyond their expectation. Friendly, outgoing, detail oriented, strong typing skills, and ability to work with a wide range of client types. Patient, with strong problem solving skills. Communication, telephone, and computer skills and knowledge are a must. Needs to understand all bank policies. Must be a self-starter. Must be willing to put in the time and effort to meet and/or exceed branch and overall bank goals. General knowledge of loan products. Must understand gaining market share and expanding deposit base.
Primary Duties:
- Receives cash and checks for deposit, verifies amounts, and looks for check endorsements. Examines cash carefully to guard against acceptance of counterfeit bills.
- Cashes checks for customers after verifying identification and checking account balances in accordance with bank policy.
- Enters transactions into computer and issues customer receipts.
- Provide customer with access to their safe deposit boxes and open/close boxes.
- Open new accounts including checking, savings, CD’s, and IRA’s. Close accounts as needed.
- Act as back up to Assistant Manager in taking care of customer needs. Take loan applications and answer general questions related to the lending function.
- Perform vault duties, roll coin, and balance ATM.
- Counts cash balance at beginning of shift then balances cash and checks against computer records at end of shift.
- Prepares official checks, savings bonds, and travelers' checks as requested.
- Answer phones and contact clients with various issues as necessary.
- Explain bank services and charges to customers
- Observes suspicious behavior and reports any such activity to supervisor and/or security personnel as appropriate. In the event of a robbery, remains calm and follow bank procedures to safeguard customers and staff.
- Open/close/process night drop under dual control.
- Maintenance accounts by changing addresses, names and ordering checks.
- Research outages, seeking help of superior if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
